How long will it
take for my condition to get better?
There is no single answer to this question. It will
depend on many factors – how long you have had the condition,
how old or young you are, how sick you are to start with,
whether you have given me enough information to be able to
build up a 'picture' of you. As a guideline, if you have only
had a concern for a few months, and it is not affecting your
life profoundly – that should only take two or three visits.
However, if you have been ill with a serious condition for 15
years, it is likely to take quite a long time. Even
so, you should start to feel an improvement within
a few months, and sometimes even in established conditions
improvement can be sudden and far-reaching.
What are remedies made of?
Remedies are made from
plant, mineral, and even animal sources. They come in
different forms, as tablets, powders, ointments and tinctures.
They are safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive – so they can be
given even to tiny babies or very sick elderly people. If you
are vegetarian or vegan and do not want animal-based remedies,
please let me know. If you are allergic to milk-based
products, ask for lactose-free remedies. My remedies come from
quality-assured suppliers, and are kept in cabinets away from
direct sunlight, and strong substances like camphor and
menthol.
How do I know how and when to take the
remedies?
Full instructions will be
given or sent to you with the remedy. A common pattern is to
take 3 pills in a cycle of ‘morning, evening, morning’ or
‘evening, morning, evening’. Never swallow the pills – they
should be chewed or sucked, leaving at least 15 minutes before
or after food and drink. Remedies should be kept in a cool,
dark place away from direct sunlight, and strong substances
like camphor and menthol.

What do I do after taking the
remedy?
It will be very helpful
if you can record any changes – either to existing symptoms,
or new symptoms appearing. If you have any major uncomfortable
symptoms, or anything worrying after taking the remedy,
contact me immediately. Sometimes, patients experience a
worsening of their symptoms, or they may experience a ‘rerun’
of symptoms or conditions they had in the past, before they
start getting better. This is a very good sign to homeopaths,
and shows that the remedy is working – so please hang on in
there if you possibly can (and try not to take any other
medicines to get rid of those symptoms). You should eventually
feel better on some level – and you may feel much better quite
quickly. Tthere is no single pattern, as everyone is an
individual, and responds individually.
What do the 'Laws of Cure' mean?
The Laws of Cure within homeopathy state that
symptoms improve from the top of the body to the bottom; from
the most important to the least important (organs or body
systems); from inside before the outside; and in reverse order
of their appearance. Improvement following any of these
principles is regarded as moving in the direction of
cure.
What about the doctor's medication I am
taking?
Most medication can be
taken in conjunction with homeopathy. Homeopathic remedies are
non-toxic, non-addictive and can be used with all age groups.
It would be helpful to let me know any medication you are
currently taking.
Can I claim homeopathic treatment from my private health insurance?
Many private health care insurances will cover the cost of homeopathic treatment. HSA is particularly good for this kind of cover.
